Oral Surgery
Our Featured Surgeries
Our dental office in Round Rock, TX, serving Georgetown and surrounding communities provides the following maxillofacial surgeries:
Bone Graft
Your jaw may have become compromised after facial trauma, or suffered atrophy after tooth loss. A bone graft can replace lost bone tissue and even spur new tissue to generate.
If you’ve had a missing tooth for an extended period of time, for example, the bone around the empty socket will recede. In cases like this, a small bone graft can restore a solid foundation for dental implants to replace lost teeth. It can also restore the natural shape of your face.
The process of a dental bone graft involves our dentist creating a minor incision and placing the grafting material. Your body will then use that grafted material as a scaffold to reform its original bone structure.
Sinus Lift
A sinus lift surgery is a special bone grafting procedure performed in the upper jaw to make it possible to safely accommodate implants without disturbing the sinus membranes.
If the bone around a missing tooth has receded, your sinus membrane may have migrated too close to the socket for an implant to be placed safely. In some cases, a patient's sinus cavity naturally lies too close to the treatment site.
With a small incision, your dentist can lift the sinus membrane just enough to allow the safe placement of a bone graft. After a healing period, you’ll be ready for a dental implant.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically embedded in the jaw to serve as artificial tooth roots. Dental implants can replace missing teeth by providing support to restorations like dental crowns, bridges, and dentures.
Implants provide the highest level of stability and support for these restorations. They are also the only restorative dentistry solution that prevents jawbone atrophy after tooth loss. With proper care, they can last for a lifetime, allowing patients to speak and chew with confidence.
Your implants will be placed in the jaw and begin a process of fusing with the jawbone over the next three to six months. After this process is complete, you will be able to receive restorations.
Tooth Extraction
It is always best to preserve natural teeth when possible. Unfortunately, some teeth are too compromised as a result of severe damage, decay, or disease. In these cases, extraction may be the best way to restore the patient's oral health.
During a surgical tooth extraction, Dr. Ace can gently remove severely compromised teeth to improve oral health and prepare the patient for oral surgeries like dental implants. Through a combination of modern techniques, local anesthesia, and optional sedation, you can expect this procedure to be virtually painless. Your comfort matters to Dr. Ace.

I've been going to Dr Ace for about 3 years now. I am a transplant to the area so Dr Ace and team picked me up with somebody else having done the work. I wish I had lived in Austin years ago and known about Dr Ace. This place is great, and I've recommended them personally so thought I'd recommend them on here also.
