Afraid Of The Dentist? We Can Help

Imagine this: You’ve finally scheduled that much-needed dental treatment, but there’s something in the back of your mind telling you to postpone the appointment. Maybe it’s the perception that dentists’ offices are cold and sterile, or the people are unkind. Perhaps you’re still reeling from a past experience that left you in pain or feeling like you weren’t properly cared for.

Well, if you’re afraid of the dentist, Jovan Prosthodontics can help. Dr. Ace has built a practice where you can receive top-notch, specialized care in a warm and inviting setting. We know that as many as 15 percent of Americans have let dental anxiety stand between them and improved oral health, and we want to remove the barriers that cause stress.

Read on for three ways our Round Rock, TX office works to maximize patient comfort. Then, experience the difference for yourself! Call Jovan Prosthodontics at (512) 716-1200 to schedule an appointment.

1. Comfort Amenities

What do you think of when you think of a dentist’s office? Do you think of white walls and aggressive air conditioning? Maybe you think of unfriendly professionals lecturing you about the health of your teeth.

At Jovan Prosthodontics, we strive to challenge your assumptions about what a dental practice can be. That’s why our office features the warmth of hardwood floors and natural light. You can relax on our leather couch before your appointment. We’d be happy to grab you a blanket or neck pillow to make your procedure more comfortable. You can even watch your favorite TV shows while we work!

And for lengthy procedures, we’ll even get you lunch. We take patient comfort very seriously!

2. Dental Sedation

A warm blanket and free lunch are great, but what if you need a little extra help relaxing during your appointment? For patients with intense anxiety, or for those undergoing extensive dental work, we offer four forms of dental sedation.

Those include:

  • Nitrous oxide: This mild sedative, commonly known as “laughing gas,” produces a euphoric feeling. Plus, it’s easy and painless. All you have to do is take a few deep breaths from a small mask we’ll place over your nose, and you’ll start to feel its effects.
  • Oral conscious sedation: If you need help relaxing before your appointment, we can prescribe a pill and instruct you to take it a set amount of time before your procedure. By the time we call you back to the dental chair, you’ll feel calm and perhaps slightly sleepy.
  • IV sedation: This is a deep form of sedation administered directly into the bloodstream, so we can closely monitor your level of sedation throughout your appointment. You’ll remain conscious, but you’ll feel sort of like you’re dreaming.
  • General anesthesia: This is the deepest form of sedation available, where you’re fully unconscious during significant procedures. It’s administered by a licensed professional to ensure your safety.

It’s important to note that with all forms of dental sedation beside nitrous oxide, you’ll need to arrange a ride to and from our office. These medications can take a while to wear off, and we want to make sure you get home safe and sound.

Want to know whether sedation dentistry can help you conquer your fear of the dentist? Just give us a call and set up a consultation. Our caring team of dental professionals can talk with you about what might be appropriate for you and your needs so you can make an informed decision.

3. Flexible Payment Options

Perhaps it’s not the environment or the possibility of discomfort that stresses you out about your much-dental procedure; it’s the cost. If you fall into this category, we can help ease your anxieties too.

At Jovan Prosthodontics, we offer several flexible payment options. We’re willing to work with you so you can get the high-quality dental care you deserve. Not only do we work with all insurance companies, but we also partner with CareCredit, Lending Club, and Compassionate Healthcare to provide low-interest and no-interest payment plans for those who qualify!

Plus, if you pay for your treatment in full using cash, we offer a discount. If you have questions about the cost of your treatment, your insurance, or anything in between, just call our office. Our friendly administrative staff would be happy to assist you.
