If somebody told me that their dentures don't fit properly I would ask them a couple of questions to why they say that. A lot of times the denture won't fit properly just because it's been in there for a long, long time. The way that a denture work is kind of like your shoes. Let's say I give you a new denture and it's a size eight, but the bone and the gum will be a size eight for the first year. After a couple of years the bone will shrink back down to a size seven, a size six, a size five. In essence you have a large shoe on a small foot, and because of that gap and the room, or the misfit between the denture, and the bone, and the gum anytime the patient will chew and function it will cause rubbing, or soreness. Which most patients experience when they complain about not having a well fitting denture. At our office with our own in house laboratory we're able to solve a lot of these problems by either refitting, or reinserting a sole into the shoe in essence, or refitting the inside of a denture if it's still functioning or able to be used again. A lot of times we're able to reprocess, or refit the patient with a custom set of teeth or dentures. For certain patients that have good bone underneath their denture we're able to anchor in a permanent denture, or a permanent bridge that is very, very stable, doesn't require any glue, doesn't move, and allows them to bite like patients that have regular teeth.

Get Rid Of The Denture Paste: Dental Implant Dentures
If your dentures aren’t fitting properly, you probably tried to use denture paste, but no matter how much paste you added, your dentures were still loose. With dental implant dentures, you’ll never have to worry about denture paste again. Your dentures will be secured by dental implants that have bonded with your jaw for a strong, reliable hold.
We offer two types of dental implant dentures:
- Implant-supported dentures have a bar that your dentures lock onto, and the bar is attached to your dental implants.
- Implant-retained dentures lock your dentures and your dental implants together using ball attachments.
