Here’s something that might make a difference to you if you are trying to find a new home for all your oral healthcare needs: Dr. Ace is certified to administer the deepest levels of dental sedation in conjunction with any procedure in which it could help you as a patient. While this is widely known to be a big help to folks with dental anxiety, sedation is not just for the fearful. In fact, it will ensure that your visit will be more productive, and that’s what we wanted to talk about today. Keep reading to hear more about it, and then be sure to follow up and schedule your next appointment with our Round Rock, TX team!

The Time Passes Faster With Sedation

If you aren’t exactly thrilled about spending your day at the dentist’s office, that can create some anxiety as time goes on. Still, there is some good news for you: sedation dentistry can make the time required to work on your teeth and gums seem to pass a lot faster. In some cases, sedation can make it so you have very little memory of your procedure. Doesn’t that sound nice?

Accomplish Your Goals All At Once

Let’s face it, there’s a limit to how much a patient can handle before it’s been simply too much dental care for one visit. Fortunately, with the assistance of sedation, you can get the care you need, even multiple procedures, all at once. This can save you time and money in the end. That’s what really matters to Dr. Ace, making you happy!

Sedation Controls Your Gag Reflex

Many patients experience a subconscious gagging reaction that slows down or interrupts our plans for treatment. But With oral sedation your reflex will be relaxed along with the rest of your body, and we will be able to do work on your teeth and gums as planned.

No More Trouble Sitting Still

Are you the sort of patient that can’t sit still for long periods of time? Then you are in good company! At our Round Rock area dentist’s office, we have found that even mild levels of sedation can help patients like you sit still long enough to get the care you deserve.

Less Sensitivity

If you have teeth or gums that are so sensitive you can’t handle even the simplest of dental treatments, sedation can help with that too. Why not try it and see for yourself?

The Levels We Offer

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide (more commonly known as “laughing gas”) works best for mild anxiety and basic procedures. After you begin breathing it in, you will feel calm and unlike other forms of sedation, the effects will wear off shortly after your procedure.

Oral Sedation

Even in the case of minor anxiety, we can prescribe a pill before your procedure so you can feel relaxed before you ever step foot in our office.

IV Sedation

While you will technically remain conscious during your procedure, you will slip  into a dreamlike state. In addition to relaxing you during your visit, you will remember very little about your time here.

General Anesthesia

We are also certified to offer the strongest form of dental sedation around, general anesthesia, which will put you fully to sleep almost instantly. You will not remember anything, and you will need to line up a ride home!
